The Chuckle Brothers have been honoured with a Children's Bafta.

The slapstick pair won the Special Award after more than three decades in children's entertainment.

Paul and Barry Chuckle, real-life brothers from Rotherham, collected the British Academy Children's Award at a star-studded event in central London.

Paul, 61, and Barry, 63, born Elliot, had their first taste of fame in 1974 when they won New Faces.

They collected their gong from Doctor Who writer Russell T Davies.

Other winners on the night included Wall:E, for best feature film, and Lego Batman, for best video game.

The waste-collecting animated robot beat off stiff competition from Ratatouille, Horton Hears a Who! and live-action fantasy Stardust. And the building block super hero outplayed Mario Kart Wii.

International phenomenon Hannah Montana won the Kid's Vote, decided by children aged seven to 14. The cross-category poll attracted nearly 200,000 votes.

CBBC won Channel of the Year ahead of Nick Jr, Nickelodeon UK and its stablemate Cbeebies.

The event was hosted by children's favourite Keith Chegwin.
