WORCESTERSHIRE are remaining calm despite the recent deluge threatening to disrupt the redevelopment at New Road.
The County are not expecting the rain to force the river to burst its banks but are keeping in regular contact with the Environment Agency.
“We have been told that the river is likely to peak at 3.7 metres and that isn’t a level that would cause us to worry,” commercial director David Leatherdale said.
The building of the new Graeme Hick Pavilion is about to move into the next stage with the old buildings completely cleared.
Test foundations were poured over the weekend and, while there was little work carried out today, Worcestershire have ensured they have structured time into the schedule should the weather force the work to stop.
The new pavilion is expected to be completed by late April or early May.
