EVESHAM Wheelers’ midweek run explored some of the little known lanes around the Vale visiting The Littletons and Offenham before heading out to Bidford where coffee was taken.
The return journey took in the roads around Wixford, Dunnington and Harvington with 40 miles covered.
Sunday morning saw temperatures hovering just above freezing and 25 members left the High Street destined for Earls Croome Garden Centre.
It was out of the Vale through Hampton and along Haselor Lane to Elmley Castle then skirting the north side of Bredon Hill on the way to Pershore.
The bells of the Abbey accompanied the riders as they rode out up Allesborough Hill and headed towards Croome Court and Baughton.
The riders then took a series of damp and challenging lanes to Holly Green before a short sprint up the A38 to Earls Croome.
It was soon back on the bikes and back into the lanes passing through Defford, Eckington and Bredon before speeding along to Kemerton where a touch of wheels saw one rider have an unscheduled meeting with the tarmac.
Unhurt and bike intact, the riders were soon together again as they passed through Beckford, Dumbleton, Wormington and Aston Somerville before back on to the A46 and the cycleway back to Evesham with 52 miles covered.
This Sunday’s run is to Norton Worcester and will leave the High Street at 9.15am.
