A BROADWAY man has been disqualified from driving for 13 months after he drove while over the drink-drive limit.
John Loveridge was twice over the legal limit when police stopped him on the A44 on Saturday, October 11.
Loveridge, of Orchard Avenue, was pulled over by officers at 8pm after he was seen drifting from the verge to the centre lane and back as he drove to Broadway in his Peugeot 306, Worcester Magistrates Court was told last Friday (24).
Police carried out a roadside breath test after smelling alcohol on the 44-year-old.
It showed 76 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 miligrammes of breath. The legal limit is 35 miligrammes.
Defending, Brian O’Connell said Loveridge, a production operative for a plastics company, did not realise he was over the limit when he drove home after going for a drink with friends after work.
Loveridge, who was disqualified from driving for two years 11 years ago, pleaded guilty to driving when over the legal alcohol limit.
He was fined £500 and ordered to pay £60 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
He was also offered the opportunity to attend a driving course.
