BUDDING chefs from Willersey Primary School continued their culinary tour around the world when they whipped up some American delights.

Thanksgiving was the theme of the day and saw the school’s cookery club devise a menu of native American dishes such as pumpkin tarts, three ladies soup made from squash, beans and corn, Indian fry bread and pecan and pumpkin cookies.

They were given a helping hand from two experts as special guests for the day were two chefs from the Cotswold Conference Centre.

Head chef Scott Courts and his chef de partie Jamie Bennett helped the children prepare the produce and taught them some tricks of the trade.

After tasting their creations, the pupils enjoyed a question and answer session with the professionals.

They asked the chefs how they started their careers and how many people they cooked for.

They hope to return to the school in the new year for more sessions with the club.
