ASPIRING actors at Evesham High School received a confidence boosting message from a famous local star ahead of their new production .

Students and staff at the school were busily rehearsing for their production of the famous Little Shop of Horrors tale, when they were sent a good luck message from former Evesham schoolboy Alistair McGowan last week.

Alistair sent the note to the young cast offering advice and drawing on his own experience of the Little Shop of Horrors.

He received rave reviews after appearing in the show last year in a run in London’s West End, where he played the role of sadistic dentist Orin Scrivello.

Alistair said: “Of all the shows I’ve been involved with as a professional, I have never known audiences respond to anything as much as they did to Little Shop of Horrors.

“Everyone was buzzing when they came out of the theatre every night. The music is sensational and every song is a pleasure to sing. Every part of the show is memorable, the script, the songs and Audrey 2 - will see you through!”

The first show in Evesham High School’s production of Little Shop of Horrors will take place tomorrow (19) after a special show organised to give local middle schools a sneak preview this morning (18).

There are further shows on Thursday (20) and Friday (21) from 7pm. Tickets are priced at adults £6, concessions £4, family £20.

For more information and to buy tickets call the school on 01386 442060.
