WOMEN across the Vale can test their driving skills in a variety of different vehicles in an upcoming charity event.

The Ladies Driving Challenge has been organised by Marie Curie Cancer Care and allows participants the chance to get behind the wheel of vehicles including a double decker bus, tractor, JCB or a lorry.

The event is being held at Throckmorton Airfield, near Pershore, on Sunday, September 14. It will cost participants £10 to register with everyone taking part asked to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship, which will be put towards Marie Curie nursing services.

Community fundraiser Richard Scott said: “It is a great day out for everyone involved and this year it is even more special as it is the charity’s diamond anniversary. There will be some truly challenging and fun vehicles that the ladies would otherwise never have the chance to try.”

Marie Curie Cancer Care provides support to terminally ill patients and their families and is also asking for volunteers to help stage this event.

To register to take part in the event or to offer your services as a volunteer, call 01179 427132.
